Using Windows Character Map

Have you ever wondered where KPI arrows come from in a Tableau Dashboard? You can get these from the Character Map application in Windows.

Simply type in 'Character' in your Windows search bar.

Double-click to open the program.

On the Character Map pop-up menu, scroll to the bottom. You will see the KPI arrows 75% of the way down.

Click on the arrow and then click on the Select button. This will put the arrow in your cache (or clipboard).

You can then paste this arrow in a formula in Tableau.
